TeamUp ("the app") is built and operated by Isaac Perez. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, what other players can see, and the choices you have. By using TeamUp, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
Information we collect
To provide the service, TeamUp collects and stores the following:
- Account & identity: your first and last name and email address, shared by Sign in with Apple the first time you sign in.
- Profile content: an optional profile photo you upload from your photo library, your account-creation date, and in-app activity stats (events hosted, events joined, and achievements you unlock).
- Events you create: the sport, title, date, and precise location (latitude and longitude) of the pickup events you post.
- Event participation: a record of which events you join, linking your account to those events.
- Authentication identifiers: a pseudonymous user identifier and the session that keeps you signed in.
Device location
While you have the app open, TeamUp uses your device's location (with your permission, while-in-use only) to center the map on where you are and surface nearby games. Your device location is used on your device only — it is not sent to our servers or stored. You can grant or revoke this access at any time in iOS Settings → TeamUp → Location. Separately, when you create an event you choose that event's location, which is saved as part of the event (see "What other players can see").
How we use your information
- Create your account and keep you signed in.
- Show pickup events and the players attending them on the map.
- Let you create events, join events, and build your profile.
- Maintain your activity stats and achievements.
- Operate, maintain, and improve the app, and address abuse or technical problems.
What other players can see
TeamUp is a community app, so some information is shared with other signed-in users by design:
- Events you create — including the sport, title, date, and precise location — are visible to all signed-in users so they can find and join games.
- Event participation — the record of which events have been joined is visible to other signed-in users.
Your name, email address, and profile photo are private: they are stored for your own account only and are not shown to other users through the app. Nothing in TeamUp is visible to people who are not signed in.
Where your information is stored
Your account data, event data, and uploaded photos are stored on Supabase, the backend provider that hosts our database, authentication, and file storage. We do not sell your personal information, and TeamUp contains no advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking.
Third-party services
TeamUp relies on the following providers, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple (shares your name and email on first sign-in) and the MapKit map.
- Supabase — database, authentication, and avatar storage.
Your choices
- Edit your profile: update your name and photo at any time from your profile in the app.
- Location: grant or revoke location access in iOS Settings → TeamUp → Location.
- Delete your account & data: to delete your account and the data associated with it — your profile, the events you created, and your participation records — email iperez2435@gmail.com and we will remove it.
What we don't collect
TeamUp does not use push notifications and does not collect device push tokens. It contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs, collects no payment information, and does not track you across other apps or websites.
Security
Access to your data requires an authenticated session, and the app talks to the backend using only a public client key — all data access is enforced server-side by row-level security rules scoped to your own account. No method of electronic storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we also encourage you to keep your device protected.
Children
TeamUp is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page.
